The Canon Branding

The canon (not to be confused with cannon) refers to a body of books, narratives and other texts considered to be the most important and influential of a particular time period or place. This brand, The Canon, is an online learning platform dedicated to the study of English literature. It is a platform that teachers can use to engage their students and offer multiple pathways to meet the requirements of a high school English class. Students are able to choose the texts they want to read and how they want to improve their learning. The Canon incorporates voices of those who students may not have been exposed to in the old system of paper novel studies, as these were primarily white, male authors.
